This historical building dates back to 1914 and was once a hotel. A woman's apparition wearing an old-fashioned dress has been spotted here on the third floor staircase, and a phantom piano player has been heard (but never seen) in the mining room.

  • I definitely felt like I was being watched

We went last week. It's an awesome museum! Way bigger than you'd expect. It was me, my two kids (1 and 3) and my parents. I didn't know anything about the location and everything seems totally normal until my three year old and I walked down the stairs into the basement while my parents and one year old took the elevator. As I made my first step at the bottom of the stairs I immediately had the sense that we were not alone in that room. I felt watched. I heard the elevator open so I walked over to where it was but I could feel the invisible eyes following me. The air felt heavy. There was one room that showed different mining tools and you walk around in an oval to see all the artifacts in these glass cases in the middle. I could not get my feet to move over to the far end. It really felt like the invisible entity watching me was watching me from that part of the room. As we all loaded back up onto the elevator I felt that heaviness in the air immediately dissipate. I even felt myself take a deep breath in. I didn't say anything to anyone until we left, but as we all loaded the car I made a comment about the basement feeling a bit different and thankfully my parents said that they had felt like something was off down there as well but didn't want to scare the kids. The only other time I've felt something like that was in the basement of an old house in Grafton, Ut.

  • Strong Vibes

I do not see ghost but I often sense there emotion imprint, does that make sense. Then as my mind slows down and it is quiet I can start to like know things. I was upstairs in the museum when I sensed strong emotion. (in south west section of the building. As I was able to sort things out in my mind there seemed to have been a young women who had died and I believe it was from a influenza. It has been several years since I was in Helper. I am sure I have the visit in a diary I should see if I can find it. May be I can add more to this. I often have to get away from haunting like this for they can be disturbing, I did not stay long. The whole town has a lot of strong vibes; interesting place to visit but I would not like to live there. Can anyone verify what I felt?
