About Nightmare:
Starting out in 1990 as The Institute of Terror Haunted House, Nightmare on 13th has since grown into one of the industry’s most successful haunted attractions (Haunted Attraction Magazine), one of America’s scariest attractions (The Travel Channel), and one of America’s best haunted houses (USA Today). It is no wonder that the Nightmare on 13th has become a Halloween-time household name, and you can bet that we aim to live up to these honorable recognitions.

Raising the bar on ourselves as each season passes, each year we present a brand new, never-before-seen Nightmare (theme). Nightmare on 13th also features 36,000 square-feet of room for haunting our customers; professionally trained actors; professionally crafted costumes, masks, and makeup; cutting edge animatronics and audio/lighting effects. It’s all in the name of frightful fun. Because of this, there will always be a new reason to visit Nightmare on 13th, a guaranteed evening full of new ways to get scared and scream your lungs out.

The Nightmare On 13th is always changing. From new sets and scenes, to outside building modifications or new photo ops in our Nightmare courtyard. We try to change as much as we can every year to keep things new and fresh for our customers.

What’s new for 2023 at the Nightmare On 13th?
The brand new Shop of Horror which is located our in our courtyard. Our newly themed rooms: The Howling and Possession. In The Howling you'll come face to face with blood thirsty werewolves and vampires. In Posession, you'll be greeted by demons and those who worship the devil himself.

While the haunted house is what the Nightmare is well known for, there are other ways to add to the fun as well. If you are wanting a more family friendly and non-scary event to do for the evening or during the daytime, before coming to the haunted house, check out Escape On 13th.

We have the most immersive and exciting interactive escape adventures along the Wasatch Front! With 3 different themed games to choose from you’ll find an adventure the whole family will love and leave you wanting to come back for more! We were able to put all of our set building skills from the Nightmare into a non-scary family friendly environment with 360 degree design! For more information, visit www.escapeon13th.com

  • Email Verified It was a blast so much fun

You need to try if you love haunted houses because there was a lot of stuff like a ice cream factory I visited October 28th with my dad and it has this room with a long tunnel that was spinning in circles and I got dizzy and couldn't control myself and the room where there like don't be scared

  • Email Verified Best Haunted House in Utah! Hands Down!

I went to Nightmare on 13th on Friday, May 13th, 2022 and it was amazing. The details of each scene are insanely good and the scares/jumps are the best of any haunted house I've been to. I can't wait to go back during Halloween time!

  • Email Verified Top Notch Haunted Attraction

I've been here numerous times and no two visits are the same. Each year this haunt makes drastic changes, improvements, and continue to innovate. I love the unique themes, especially Dark Ride of Terror from last year. Nightmare on 13th truly feels like Halloween!

  • The Best Haunted House I've Been To!!!

The haunted house lasted a good 45 minutes! There was so much time and effort into making this great and it really was. The props and actors were amazing! We were close to the people in front of us, but we still got the full experience. Can't say enough about it!!

  • Email Verified It was a blast

I was there with my friends and honestly it was a blast. Here the setup was so realistic. Definitely one of the best haunt houses in the state. The reputation is rightly conferred. The house was adorned with props and the special effects did great tricks. It stuck to the theme including the actors. It was fun place to stop by.

  • Lively actors

Most of the haunts have repetitive themes and it becomes very predictable. Here, they have managed to keep things different. The actors were enthusiastic. The makeup and costumes did the job of scaring us away with one look. They were quite determined and would stalk you till the end. Had a great evening and will surely be back.
