We love Macabre Mansion! They have the decorations up all month, but they only open on Halloween night. It's free to enter, but they accept donations on behalf of the Utah Food Bank. They've expanded over the last few years, and it takes a good 10–15 minutes to get through the whole thing. And at the end, they have full-size candy bars for the kids! It's really spooky but not too scary for kids. There are actors that are told specifically by the owner to not jump out at small children, but they'll gladly scare teenagers and adults. They do a fantastic job, and we love going! It's a free 15-minute haunt with candy at the end, so it's amazing value. One caution, though: since it's on busy Gordon Avenue in Layton, be careful parking and crossing the road.
