What are you most excited about for the 2025 Halloween Season?

We’re most excited about taking the Night Stalkers Haunted Trail experience to the next level in 2025! This is one of our biggest upgrade year yet—with nearly 80 brand-new props being added across all four zones. These props bring a whole new level of immersion, realism, and surprise that will leave guests questioning what’s real and what’s not.

We’re also thrilled about the continued evolution of our Fright Lights attraction, which has quickly become a guest favorite. This year, we’ve expanded the interactive elements with 20+ new light-activated surprises, making it even more magical for families, couples, and anyone looking for Halloween fun without the fear.

What's your favorite experience since opening Night Stalkers Haunted Trail at Crazy Corn Maze?

There have been a lot of unforgettable moments over the years, but one that stands out the most is watching guests fully immerse themselves in the Feeding Day storyline for the first time. When we debuted that concept, we weren’t sure how deeply people would engage—but the reactions were beyond what we imagined. Guests didn’t just scream… they ran, they cried, they begged their friends to “go first.” That’s when we knew we’d created something truly unique. Just chanting "Welcome to Feeding Day," sparked such incredible reactions that is something we will never forget.

Another favorite experience happens every night: standing at the exit and watching people come out of the trail—shaky, breathless, laughing, hugging, or just stunned silent. It’s amazing to see how different people react to fear, and it’s a reminder of why we do this. It’s about more than scares—it’s about entertaining and creating a shared experience that people talk about all season long.

Does Night Stalkers Haunted Trail at Crazy Corn Maze's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Most definitely. Anyone who’s been part of the Night Stalkers team for any length of time has experienced something they can’t explain. From unexplained footsteps in the cornfields to cold spots in empty zones, there’s an energy on the property that shifts the moment the sun goes down.

We’ve even captured actual video footage on our security cameras and have experienced anything from doors closing on their own, lights flickering without power issues, music playing and figures moving in places where no one should be. One clip shows what looks like a transparent figure pacing near our Phobia zone… long after closing.

Most of the spirits seem to be playful—mischievous, even. Props fall when no one’s around. Music cues play out of sync as if something’s toying with the system. But there’s one entity that gives even our most seasoned staff chills: the Shadow Man. He’s tall, silent, and usually shows up when someone is working alone. No footsteps. No warning. Just a dark shape lingering at the edge of your vision… until you turn and realize you’re not alone.

It’s all part of what makes Night Stalkers so powerful. We don’t just create fear—we coexist with it.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

It all started with a love for Halloween and a desire to create something truly unforgettable—not just a haunted house, but a full experience that pulls people into a different world. We’ve always been drawn to storytelling, atmosphere, and the idea that fear can be fun when it’s shared. Opening a haunted attraction gave us the perfect outlet to combine creativity, theater, design, and adrenaline all in one.

What inspired us most was seeing how haunted attractions bring people together—friends laughing, couples clinging to each other, strangers bonding through screams. That energy is contagious, and it’s something we wanted to be a part of year after year.

As for our favorite part of the business? Hands down, it’s the reactions. Watching guests come out of the trail—some laughing, some breathless, some needing a moment to recover—it’s the best kind of payoff. We also love building with our team; the behind-the-scenes process of turning a crazy idea into a fully immersive scene or scare is incredibly rewarding.

This business is a blend of heart, horror, and hard work, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Night Stalkers Haunted Trail at Crazy Corn Maze?

New technology has completely elevated the Night Stalkers experience. In recent years, we’ve been able to bring our darkest ideas to life in ways that simply weren’t possible before—bigger scares, smarter timing, and more immersive storytelling.

Our use of animatronics has added incredible realism to the trail. We now have large-scale creatures that move, roar, and reach for guests with perfect precision—things that would take five actors to pull off in the past. They’re synchronized with lighting and sound to deliver scares that are timed to the second.

We’ve also invested heavily in sensor-based effects, projection mapping, and environmental controls like fog blasters and scent machines. These create an atmosphere that’s not just seen—but felt. We want guests to feel like they’ve stepped into a living nightmare, and today’s technology helps us blur the line between illusion and reality.

And this year, we’ve taken it a step further with nearly 80 brand-new props and effects, including motion-triggered elements and interactive surprises that react directly to guests. It’s no longer a passive walkthrough—it’s an experience that fights back.
